Get ready to “Crocodile Rock” with AXS TV this May, as the network presents a Saturday Stack lineup dedicated to iconic Oscar, GRAMMYÒ, and Tony-winning singer-songwriter Elton John, featuring a day of concert films and profile pieces on Saturday, May 12 starting at 1p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
The block kicks off with the in-depth profile piece Rock Legends: Elton John, combining rare footage, unforgettable performances, and interviews with noted experts to present an immersive journey into Elton John’s incredible career and the unprecedented impact that he has had on rock n’ roll; followed by the career-spanning 2016 documentary Elton John: Music Man at 1:30pE. And Classic Albums takes viewers into the studio, as John, along with songwriting partner Bernie Taupin, and others reflect on the creative process behind one of his most acclaimed works in Classic Albums: Elton John: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road at 2:40pE.
Then, at 3:45pE, Elton John: The Million Dollar Piano captures Elton John during his smash Caesar’s Palace residency in Las Vegas, putting his unparalleled showmanship on full display as he blazes through a comprehensive set featuring beloved hits such as “Benny And The Jets,” “Levon,” “Rocket Man,” “Your Song,” “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting,” and many more. And Sir Elton is awarded the first-ever BRITs Icon Award in a lively night that includes performances of “I’m Still Standing,” “Tiny Dancer,” and “Sad Songs (Say So Much),” with guest Rod Stewart, in BRITs Icon: Elton John at 6pE.
The night concludes with encore broadcasts of Classic Albums: Elton John: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road at 7:30pE, followed by Rock Legends: Elton John at 8:30pE, BRITs Icon: Elton John at 9pE and Elton John: The Million Dollar Piano at 10:25pE.
